Professional Statement

Rebecca Gaydos is a Ph.D. candidate in the English department at UC Berkeley. She specializes in 20th and 21st century poetry and poetics. Her interests include media and new media studies, disability theory, aesthetic theory, philosophy of technology, and science studies. She is working on a dissertation that explores the lines of affinity between American poetry (especially the Black Mountain school) and techno-scientific thought after World War II.

She is the 2013-14 Jeffrey Berg fellow at the Townsend Center for the Humanities and the recipient of the Jacobson award for interdisciplinary teaching.
